Schools’ Singing Programme
Tewkesbury Abbey is delighted to have been awarded a £15,000 grant by the Cathedral Music Trust to set up a new Schools’ Singing Programme. The programme will run for two years in its initial stage, and provides the three participating schools with weekly whole-class singing lessons, performances and events in the Abbey, and support with the National Curriculum for music.
We were thrilled to present our first concert of the new programme on Monday 14th October 2024, in collaboration with MusicShare. Schools joined in an afternoon workshop, attended a special service of evensong, and performed in an evening concert in the Abbey to a fantastic audience.
Tewkesbury Abbey Choir
The Abbey Choir is a voluntary choir of girls, boys, ladies and men drawn from Tewkesbury and beyond, with many members travelling considerable distances to sing in our glorious building.
