A time for caution,
but not for fear.

A message from the Vicar

It was with a heavy heart that we closed the doors of the Abbey on our usual pattern of worship, congregations and visitors.  However, with pre-recorded services available from this page and from here  along with our congregational pastoral care scheme here and outreach through Tewkesbury Community Response here

The Abbey’s mission and ministry continues undiminished.  Lower down this page you will find resources for prayer including our online prayer tree so that you can add your prayers to ours.

To protect their jobs, we have had to furlough many members of staff, but, as long as we can, we will support them by topping up their salary so that they receive 100% of their gross pay.   Along with volunteers stepping up to help maintain our organisational life, we have continued to employ some staff to protect the Abbey as it continues to be an icon of hope, ensure our financial life and maintain important communications.

Many requests have been received on how to continue to give and we are very grateful for your thoughtfulness and continued generosity.  If you would like to support the Abbey immediately, you can donate by sending a cheque payable to: Tewkesbury Abbey PCC, Tewkesbury Abbey Office, Church Street, Tewkesbury, GL20 5RZ, or by using Virgin Money Giving – here

In the longer term, when all our financial situations become clearer, we will suggest other ways.

In the meantime, be wise, keep well and may God go with you,

The Reverend Canon Paul Williams,

Vicar of Tewkesbury
