Prayer Tree

A Prayer for

Please pray for the repose of the soul of James Trickey, killed in collision with a car while cycling near Peterborough on 23 December 2014. His home is in Cheltenham where he was a Music Scholar at Dean Close (2006-10) having previously been a chorister at Gloucester Cathedral. He sang on many occasions in this Abbey Church and at Oxford University he was an academical lay clerk (choral scholar) at Christ Church Cathedral. At the time of his death, he was a Bass lay clerk in the choir of Peterborough Cathedral. Rest in peace, James.

A Prayer for

Please pray for my cousin Kelvin who was killed in a car accident last week at the age of 28. Give his parents, sister, girlfriend, friends and family strength to get through this awful tragedy and may Kelvin rest in peace.

A Prayer for

I pray for those who go hungry in our world, those who are in pain or are suffering from disease, those troubled through war and conflict, those who are without love, hope and friends, those grieving the loss of loved ones, and all those who are in physical or mental pain this Christmas.

A Prayer for

We pray for those who are battling loneliness this Christmas Season.

Those with no one with whom to share a word, a laugh, a memory.

Father, bless each and every one who suffers from such loneliness.

If it be your Will Lord, lighten their burden with a companion, a friend, someone who cares.

In Jesus Holy Name we pray.

I pray for the people in Syria, and the women's movement in India. I pray with all those struggling against oppression everywhere.
