Our Branch, which celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2006, is part of an international Christian organisation of over 4,000,000 members who seek to support families worldwide through prayer and care.

The Mothers Union vision is for a world where God’s love is shown through loving, respectful, and flourishing relationships.
The Mothers Union mission is to demonstrate the Christian faith in action by the transformation of communities worldwide through the nurture of the family in its many forms.

For it is the God who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness’,
who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge
of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4: 6)
Our Branch members receive copies of Families Worldwide and pray for and give thanks for the work through local, national and global projects, including MUMAS and celebrate that we are able to take part in this daily wave of prayer for fellow Mothers Union members around the world.

Mothers Union members pray for and help those whose family life has met with adversity (see our funeral page).
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels,
nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God
in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8: 38–39)
O guide me, call me, draw me, uphold me to the end;
and then in heaven receive me, my Saviour and my Friend.
(from hymn ‘O Jesus, I have promised’ by John Bode in 1868)
Loving heavenly Father, Lord of all the world,
you know the thoughts of every heart and hear the prayers of all.
You have chosen us to work for you and be one in prayer.
Guide us in our prayerful task and strengthen us to do your will.
